On 26 of October2016, the open seminar of Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Club «Fund Raising for Resource Efficient Measures Support at SMEs in Chernihiv Region» were held. The event was supported by Chernihiv Regional State Administration and Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Centre.
The seminar was opened with the welcome speech from: Svitlana Poltoratska (Deputy Director of the Department of Economic Development at Chernihiv Regional State Administration), Ivan Omelchuk Facilitator of the Resource Efficient Cleaner Production Clubs in Ukraine and Taras Sakalosh (Executive director of the Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Centre (RECPC Ukraine).
The information workshop "Improving resource efficiency at Vinnitsa region enterprises" took place in Vinnytsia, October 20th, 2016. It was initiated and organized by the Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Center acting within the framework of UNIDO project in Ukraine. The workshop managed successfully the discussions of new opportunities for business development via implementing resource efficient and cleaner production (RECP) practices: energy audit prior to updating and retrofit measures.
The seminar started with an opening speech of Leonid Antoniuk, the Director General of Vinnitsa Regional Employers' Association, who emphasized the importance of energy-and-resources efficiency and conservation in companies’ everyday operation. There were presented the best practices of resource and energy efficiency both in Vinnitsa region and Ukraine in general.
On October 11, 2016, RECP Club seminar «Fund raising for resource efficient measures at SMEs in Kharkiv region» was held in a framework of demonstration component “Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production” (RECP) under programme “Greening Economies in the Eastern Neighbourhood of European Union” (EaP GREEN) with support of Kharkiv Regional State Administration and Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Centre (RECPC).
The seminar was attended by representatives of small and medium enterprises, NGO, public authorities and expert community of Kharkiv region, which are interested in the investment opportunities for modernization of manufacturing towards efficient resource consumption and energy saving.
The fall semester of study program on professional training and retraining of the retired Military Forces of Ukrainestarted on8 of September. 37 militaries, including members of ATO, military from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, The Security Service of Ukraine, State Guard of Ukraine, and their family members took part in establishing meeting.
Training course “Resource and energy efficient technologies” is performed by Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Centre in framework of the project «Retraining and social adaptation of servicemen and their families in Ukraine» (project «UKRAINE-NORWAY»). The total amount of training time is 500 hours and it includes theoretical and practical classes onthe fundamentals of electric and heat engineering, energy saving in heat and electricity supply systems and other disciplines. Course participants going to perform practical trainings at the industrial and municipal enterprises in Kiev and regions.
One of the key prerequisites of economic development of the region is the increase of the resource efficiency of the enterprises. On July 21, 2016 in Kharkiv under the support of Kharkiv Regional State Administrationwas held the conference «Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) at the Industrial Enterprises of Kharkiv region» in a framework of international Programme “Greening Economies in the Eastern Neighbourhood of European Union (EaP GREEN)”. The aim of the conference was to discuss the experience of raising competitiveness of industrial enterprises and ways of realization of the potential of Kharkiv region.
The event that was held in a hall of Kharkiv Regional Institute of Public Administration of the National Academy of Public Administration attached to the Office of the President of Ukraine. It was visited by the representatives of the localenterprises, state organs and NGOs.
Sustainable economic development of the region is impossible without raising the resourceefficiency of its enterprises. That is why on July 15, 2016 was hold the conference «Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) at the Industrial Enterprises of Chernihiv region» under the support of Chernihiv Regional State Administration in a frame of international Programme “Greening Economies in the Eastern Neighbourhood of European Union (EaP GREEN)”.
The representatives of the enterprises, state organs, NGOs and expert society of Chernihiv region came together at the conference-hall of Chernihiv Regional State Administration to discuss the experience of raising the competitevness of enterprises and the ways of realization of the potential of the region.
The certificates awarding ceremony on successful completion of the educational and practical course under UNIDO’s RECP methodology “Implementation of the resource efficient and cleaner production at the enterprises” were held on 12 ofJuly. 15 Centre’s traineesgained certificates upon the results from the preliminary assessments of the resource efficiency potential held at enterprises. Three best projects were presented by the participants of the ceremony.
Also, Prof. Dr. sc. techn. Christoph Hugi from University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland gave a speech to all event contributors.He presented the report on “Specific of principles and approaches on the RECP implementation at the Swiss enterprises “. Mr. Hugi highly marked level of the projects, which were presented by trainees, and wished them a successful career development as RECP experts.
The certificate of RECP Centre allows trainees to proceed with their study and become UNIDO certified resource efficient and cleaner production experts.
On June 14, 2016 was held Forum “Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP): Efficient Use of Materials”, which was the final event of series of six thematic forums dedicated to the topics of sustainable consumption and production. This time the EaP GREEN project team took a trip to Lviv, to share the experiences of five previous forums, listen to the presentations, and have discussions with the colleagues and collaborators from the Western region. The event was supported by Lviv Chamber of Commerce and Industry and brought together about 40 people. Among the guests were the representatives of Lviv Regional State Administration, Lviv City Administration, Lviv Chamber of Commerce and Industry, National University Lviv Politechnic, The Institute of Geology and Geochemistry of Combustible Minerals of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Lviv National Agrarian University, The National Forestry and Wood-Technology University of Ukraine, enterprises of different industries and NGOs of Lviv region.
Forum “Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP): Reduction and Control of Air Emissions” which was held on April 22, 2016 became the fifth in a series of six thematic forums planned in the framework of “Greening Economies in the Eastern Neighborhood of European Union (EaP GREEN)” programme and its demonstration component Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP).
The event gathered more than 40 persons that were interested in discussion and solvation of the urgent problem of our time - air pollution with the harmful industrial emissions.
Nowadays there is no doubts in need of reduction and treatment of wastewater in Ukraine. To discuss the problem and ways of its solution with the participation of many interested parties once again, on March 29, 2016 in the Room of Administrative Board of NTU "KPI" was conducted the forum, dedicated to popularization and dissemination of Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) concept in Ukraine: “Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP): Reduction and Treatment of Waste Water”. This Forum was the fourth of series from six forums dedicated to the topical issues of sustainable consumption and production.
The Forum was organized within a framework of international programme “Greening Economies in the Eastern Neighborhood of European Union” EaP GREEN and its demonstration component Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP), which is implemented by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
On February 16, 2016 at the Hall of the Academic Council of Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (KNUCA), Forum “Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP):sourcing and efficient use of water” has brought together representatives of Kyivvodokanal, State Agency of Water Resources of Ukraine, Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Municipal Services of Ukraine, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine and a lot of other persons who are interested in solving the problem of sourcing and efficient use of water resources.
The actuality of Forum’s topic and necessity of promotion and stimulation consumers to rational use of water resource was many times underlined during the event. It was also mentioned that the problem of excessive use of water belongs to one of the critical processes that affect the Earth's environmental sustainability.
